Child safety on MEEYO
MEEYO is 18+. Child sexual abuse and exploitation material has no place here — not in profiles, not in chats, nowhere. This page explains what we do about it and how to report.
Who gets in at all
MEEYO is 18+. Date of birth is collected at sign-up and frozen after verification. Before anyone is suggested or can write, they must take a live selfie with a randomly assigned gesture, compared against their profile photo. Anyone who appears to be a minor is not activated but referred to a human.
Every image passes a gate
Every uploaded photo is checked automatically before it is published. Rejected without exception: explicit content, violence and weapons — and any image showing a child, including your own. Where it is unclear whether the person shown is an adult, the image is not approved but referred to a human. No image is waved through if the check is unavailable.
How to report
Every profile and every chat has “Report”. Choose the reason “Child safety”. These reports do not go into the pile — they go to the top of the review list. You can also write to us directly, even without an account: support@meeyo.ch
What happens next
A human reviews every child safety report. If it is confirmed, the account is banned immediately, the content is removed and preserved, and the email address and image fingerprints go on a blocklist so the same person cannot open a new account. We report the case to the competent authorities — in Switzerland the Federal Office of Police (fedpol), in the EU the national bodies — and cooperate with them.
Law and contact
MEEYO complies with applicable child protection law in Switzerland and the EU. For questions from authorities, reporting bodies and platforms on this subject, contact: support@meeyo.ch
